Kia ora Room 4, We liked how you created your rockets. We think you used an egg carton for the tip of your rocket, are we right? What did you use to make the body of your rocket? Did you make your own rockets or did the teachers help you? Can we see Jupiter in your diorama? How did you get the things to make your rockets? From Room 10
Thank you for your comment room 10. Yes we did use an egg carton for the tip of our rocket. We rolled cardboard for the body of our rocket. We had some help from the seniors in Room 6 and 7. Yes you can see Jupiter in our dioramas. Some children brought shoeboxes from home and our teacher also gave us some things to make our rockets and dioramas. Can you guess which planet is Jupiter? From Room 4
Hi Room 4, thank you for answering all of our questions. We had a look to see if we could find Jupiter, but we needed to do some more learning first. We looked up the sizes of the planets to help us work out which ones might be Jupiter and we looked at the colour. Do you have any interesting facts about planets that you can share with us? From Room 10
Hi Room 10 We learned interesting facts about planets from non-fiction books on the Epic! website and we watched space facts, videos on our R4 learning site on the Inquiry Button. We learned a cool planets song too (by storybots) which described the planets.
We enjoyed this post, especially the rockets, that it looks real and how you included all of the planets and their details. We loved how creative you all are and we thought that you must of worked hard on them. How did you hang the rocket with the black cotton? What did you make the planets out of? How long did it take you to make them?
We would love to give this a try as we are learning about space also.
Kia orana Room 9 Thanks for your cool comments. We tied the cotton around the rocket and used sellotape to attach the cotton to the inside top of the box. The planets were easy print-outs from Whaea Twinkl. We had done lots of planet drawings in our work books and displays too.
